Marriage according Wikipedia, is defined as a social, religious, spiritual or legal union of individuals that creates kinship. This union is also called matrimony, and the ceremony that marks the union is called wedding. In general marriage is a social contract between two individuals that unites their lives legally, economically and emotionally. And to mark this unique event of bondage, a special occasion called wedding takes place.

Young Potter In Search Of Intrinsic Cultural Touches

It was an exhibition that drew my interest into pottery. The artistic presentation of clay works and the transformation of mud into priceless ceramics and sculpture is something worth seeing even if you cannot afford to buy one. Her name is Luwam Araya, a 26 year old Eritrean who struggled to become an outstanding potter. The exhibition she displayed in mid December 2009 attracted a number of people including various artists and foreigners.

“I didn’t finish shopping for my family and friends, I still have to prepare the house and the food for the event so I really have to hurry and finish the shopping as fast as I can,” were the frustrated words of a friend when I meet her downtown Asmara. I was curious to find out what the big event was and thus I began walking her. Then she asked me: “So what are your plans?” and I start talking about my whole plan for the coming month. I did this because I usually plan my programs for month.

The Story of the Two Inseparable Riders - Bereket and Daniel

Bereket Yemane became the latest cycling Tour of Eritrea 2009 winner that wrapped up on Sunday 20th December entertaining 9 different national teams, 3 of which are from Eritrea. Bereket, one of the young Eritrean riders, is better known for his climbing and chronometer or time trial skills in local and international competitions. He has proved his talent in the 2006 ANOCA competition in Kenya, in the 2007 African Championship in Cameroon, in the 2008 African Championship in Morocco and in the 2008 Tour of Ivory Coast.

Yohannes Tikabo: Talent To Reckon With

He is better known for his metaphoric song lyrics through which he has inspired countless fans and proved how flexible the Tigrigna language can be. Yohannes Tikabo was born in 1974 in Tesseney from his father, Tikabo Woldemariam, one of the country’s legendary singers of the sixties.

Cycling race was born in Eritrea in 1936. Since then, it has become like a household name. Prior to this, it was being used as a means of transportation by few people. Eritrea is home to lots of great cyclists who devotedly and professionally worked on the country’s most loved sport.Despite the chain of colonial strains, it didn’t take much time for Eritrean riders to dominate Ethiopian cycling activities and represent Ethiopia in different international competitions.

The Sound Of Three Generations

It is the name of an Eritrean band that brought together artists of three generations; starting from the legends of the sixties to today's young rising international stars and singers. As a matter of fact, it wouldn’t be appropriate to call them rising stars, they are already shining stars. Thanks to Mr. Yared Tesfay, an Eritrean saxophonist from England, the artists were comprised from 12 countries in the Middle East, Europe as well as the United States.
