Eritrea participates in an international expo in Japan

Eritrea, among other 120 countries, is participating at the 2005 international expo underway in the Japanese city of Nagoya, Aichi province. According to reports of the Ministry of information from the expo grounds in Nagoya, the ministries of fisheries, tourism, trade and industry, as well as energy and mines from Eritrea are showcasing their products in the African Pavilion podium.
The reports said that the Eritrean show grounds from the outside are decorated with traditional housing standards of the lowlands and highlands, and inside part of the showroom portrayed the identity of the Eritrean population, geographic setting of Eritrea, wildlife, monasteries and cities, as well as posters that reflect the sea resource of the country.
Among Eritrea's products displayed in the expo are products of fish hides, sculptures from sea shells and ostrich eggs, types of fish from the Red Sea and embroidery products that reflect the custom of the country. Reports said that the products of fish hides and the remains of a prehistoric woman were among the main visitors’ attractions of the Eritrean ground at the expo.
Similarly, the Sibrit cultural troupe staged different cultural songs at the African Pavilion podium yesterday and that masterpieces of the Eritrean painter, Michael Adonay, will be displayed on the Eritrean day which has been set for tomorrow June 10, 2005.
It is to be recalled that an Eritrean delegation headed by the minister of foreign affairs, Mr. Ali Seid Abdellah had left for Japan on June six upon invitation from the Japanese government.
