Halhale College of Business and Economics: In Pursuit Of Academic Excellence

The various colleges of higher education in the country have been showing steady progress in terms of accommodation capacity as well as educational facilities. Halhale College of Business and Economics for instance is one of the seven colleges that have been established in 2004. Besides cultivating productive citizens who could become driving forces for the all round nation-building process, the long term objective of the colleges includes broadening the colleges' research capacities and making them competitive centers of academic excellence.

Third Commencement of Halhale Bussiness School

The Halhale college of Business and Economics, 30 kilometers from the capital Asmara held its 3rd commencement on Saturday, 10th of July 2010.Like the other colleges that have been flourishing in the country, the opening of the college was part of the governments long term objective of providing broader access to tertiary education throughout the country with equal distribution in all the six regions of the country. The college began its preliminary academic year in 2004 within the campus of the Eritrean Institute of Technology as an autonomous college.

Modern Equipment For Better Work Efficiency

Health rendering institutions and the quality of medications has been showing impressive improvements over the previous years of independence. Parallel with this having qualified laboratories that support the ever-growing services and that meet international standards becomes a necessity to the realization of self-sufficient health care institutions at a national level. The National Health Laboratory (NHL), previously known as Central Laboratory, was initially situated within the now Orota Hospital and had functioned as the referral laboratory even before independence. At present the NHL has introduced sophisticated and automated laboratory equipments to catch up with the ever improving health services in the country.

"Education for All" Winning Over Illiteracy

The expansion of equal access to education throughout the country and particularly to the remote areas such as most parts of the Southern Red Sea Region is a major priority to the realization of which the government of Eritrea has been extending concerted efforts.  Even though very challenging to meet, as part of the desired goal of providing education to the entire Eritrean population, commendable achievements have been registered in providing broader access to basic education especially in the deprived areas of the region.

She’eb Sub Zone: Progress Wrought From Scratch

Twenty two years ago, She’eb and its environs were ravaged by the Ethiopian colonial regime and had been reduced to a state of an almost wilderness. However, the days of colonial era have now become past history. She’eb sub-zone, once a forgotten area is now gaining the opportunity of having different service rendering institutions in varied sectors.
