Building the youths: corner stone of nation building

Taking count of places with precious natural resources in Eritrea brings to the mind the presence of gold in Bisha, Bronze in the highlands, Potassium in Dalul, Natural gas in Dankalia, as well as pearl and oil in the red sea, but above all the first thing that comes to the mind of every Eritrean is the very precious human resource deposit in Sawa.
The priceless resource of any country is human power. There is no other resource that matches the human being, so long as it is humans who are the sources of any other natural resources. The clear witness to this perspective is the very fact that many countries reached the utmost development with limited natural resources, while many couldn’t keep up pace with the march towards development although having plenty of resources unexploited. Looking back at Eritrea’s history also tells us that the foundation for the secret behind the victory in our armed struggle is the keen of our heroes and heroines.
To have the very deep perspective, Eritrea is celebrating a very important anniversary; the 10th anniversary of Sawa, the foundation of productive youth and its progeny, who guaranteed a prosperous Eritrea.
The reason why parents take good care of their children is not because they expect some thing from them. Nonetheless, they raise them to shape-up so as to manage their future endeavors independently.
Likewise, the government and the society have equal responsibility to provide the youth with suitable grounds and thereby bring about a matured and responsible population for the coming generations to lead a better life.
Thus, the precedent objectives of the Sawa training center are to make sure that these perspectives are brought into reality.
President Isaias Afwerki had during his recent interview said that the nation does not only stay for one generation, but rather the nation stays for the succeeding generations to come.
Besides, laying suitable grounds through the transfer of national pride and social culture should be unremitting so as the generations to come would hold their heads highly dignified, boasting a sense of identity that would internationally be recognized.
Implanting the precious prides of the nation to the future generation starts at a family level in times of childhood.
Subsequently, the society at large takes charge of shaping the youth with the government handling the issue as one of the nations precedent policies. The number one beneficiaries of the efforts of a family, society, as well as the government to shape an outstandingly productive youth is therefore the youth themselves. For this reason, Sawa is playing a leading role in building a dynamic youth in every aspect.
So long as a skilled and trained individual is an asset for the development of the nation, the importance of the society at large and the youth to be specific in guaranteeing economic prosperity of the nation should be well in place.
The only way to construct a prosperous Eritrea is not expecting foreign aid, but rather, every citizen’s spirit for development, determination, love of work and education, work discipline and innovation.
To bring about a society that possesses all these prides, significant efforts are being in progress to shape the youth as the most important part of the nation building process. As scholars have stated, “ time is not evaluated by what has been harvested, but rather, what has been planted”.
Happy 10th anniversary for the well established Sawa, producer of the productive youth of Eritrea!
