Building the youths: corner stone of nation building

Taking count of places with precious natural resources in Eritrea brings to the mind the presence of gold in Bisha, Bronze in the highlands, Potassium in Dalul, Natural gas in Dankalia, as well as pearl and oil in the red sea, but above all the first thing that comes to the mind of every Eritrean is the very precious human resource deposit in Sawa.
Ethiopian Premier’s outdated strategy

Ethiopia’s Prime Minister, Meles Zenawi, is currently embarking on the exercise of his latest fairy-tale diplomacy. “Please talk to President Isaias Afwerki into arranging any time and place where I can possibly meet him,” are the pathetic words of petition coming out from a defiant, belligerent and intransigent Ethiopian Premier as heard by many lately.

During his visit to Eritrea in the previous week, the United Nations Secretary General, Mr. Kofi Annan made his remarks concerning the appointment of his special envoy to Eritrea and Ethiopia that the mission shall be recalled considering Eritrea’s complaints that the UN itself has no legal grounds to nominate a representative as it pleases. As for the UN’s nomination of the so-called special envoy,
Eritrea had labeled it as a move uncalled for and which should not have even been taken into consideration in the first place.

Eritrea calls on the UN to rectify its non-attendance to its obligations

After a bitter and long struggle that demanded priceless lives, Eritrea secured its independence in 1991, leading to a new realm of stability and hope in the region. In the years that followed up to 1998, the peoples of the region, blessed with the tranquility that had prevailed, had been able to place their entire focus on moving forward with developmental programs and efforts to improve their living conditions and, in the process, register remarkable progress.
