Expansion of various social service is gaining momentum in Molqi semi-urban center, thus accelerating the pace of urbanization in the area.
Molqi, 19 April 2010 – Expansion of various social service is gaining momentum in Molqi semi-urban center, thus accelerating the pace of urbanization in the area.

Reports indicated that there was no meaningful social service or infrastructure facility in Molqi prior to independence. At present, however, a number of institutions and business ventures have been opened which are providing added impetus to the urbanization of the semi-urban center.

The Administrator of the area, Mr. Asgedom Mengistu, explained that there exist various service-rendering institutions in the area, including schools up to secondary level, health service and accessible potable water supply. Noting that the number of population in Molqi has dramatically increased, he pointed out that the area is transforming into a town thanks to the expansion of social services.

Molqi semi-urban center is located 32 Km. west of Mai-Dima.
