Residents of Mai-Dima town extend support to children of martyrs

The residents of Mai-Dima town have taken voluntary initiatives of raising money and buying complete outfit and shoes to 11 martyrs’ children being catered at the community in connection with Easter holiday. 
Mai-Dima, 21 April 2010 - The residents of Mai-Dima town have taken voluntary initiatives of raising money and buying complete outfit and shoes to 11 martyrs’ children being catered at the community in connection with Easter holiday. 

The Acting administrator of Areza sub-zone, Mr. Berhane Mengesha, lauded the move and stated that it symbolizes the Eritrean people’s noble values and culture. He further called on them to enhance such assistance until the martyrs’ children become self-supporting.

The head of development in the town, Mr. Kiflom Gebrezgabhier, on his part explained that supporting the children of martyrs children and their families is not only the responsibility of the Government but the entire society as well.

Assisting children of fallen heroes in Mai-Dima sub-zone that began by mothers in 2005 has now been enhanced on the part of benevolent individuals, and that about 53,000 Nakfa has so far been donated both in material and financial terms.
