Inhabitants of Aleti-Aitos Express Satisfaction for Becoming Beneficiaries of Various Social Services

The inhabitants of Aleti-Aitos in Araeta sub-zone expressed satisfaction for becoming beneficiaries of various social services, including health, education, potable water supply and transport.

Araeta, 24 April 2010 - The inhabitants of Aleti-Aitos in Araeta sub-zone expressed satisfaction for becoming beneficiaries of various social services, including health, education, potable water supply and transport.

The local inhabitants stated that expansion of such services have already made major contribution in improving their standard of living. 

Mr. Mussa Hassen, a health professional in the area, indicated that the inhabitants who used to travel long distance to get access to such services have now secured easy access.  Pregnant mothers in particular are properly making pre-and post-delivery checkup as a result of the growing public awareness.  Mortality rate during giving birth has also been reduced, he added.

Reports further indicated that schools have been constructed in most of the administrative areas in the sub-zone and that the participation of students in education is gaining momentum.

The Administrator of Aleti-Aitos, Mr. Saleh Ahmed Mohammed, on his part stated that the Government is giving top priority to the task of expanding social services in remote areas that is brining about noticeable improvement in the people’s standard of living.
