Parent-teacher-student committees in the Southern region bearing commendable outcome

Parent-teacher-student committees in the Southern region have registered commendable accomplishments in encouraging and supporting teachers, renovation of educational institutions and following up student performance, according to Mr. Kaleab Tesfaslasie, head of the Education Ministry’s branch in the region. Adi-Quala, 9 July 2010 - Parent-teacher-student committees in the Southern region have registered commendable accomplishments in encouraging and supporting teachers, renovation of educational institutions and following up student performance, according to Mr. Kaleab Tesfaslasie, head of the Education Ministry’s branch in the region.

At a meeting in Adi-Quala sub-zone, he noted the paramount importance of active participation of parents and students for the success of the teaching-learning process. He went on to say that more than 24 schools have been constructed and renovated through the money and labor of the general public in coordination with the committees.

The parent-teacher-student committees comprise active community members, school directors and administrators, as well as representatives of teachers, students and administrative areas.
