Farm Plots Belonging To Needy Farmers In Areza Cultivated Through Tractors

Farm plots belonging to 200 needy farmers in Geza-Dungur and Adi-Tesfaliul administrative areas, Areza sub-zone, have been cultivated through tractors, according to Mr. Mihretu Araya, expert in seed fertilization in the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone.

Areza, 22 July 2010 - Farm plots belonging to 200 needy farmers in Geza-Dungur and Adi-Tesfaliul administrative areas, Areza sub-zone, have been cultivated through tractors, according to Mr. Mihretu Araya, expert in seed fertilization in the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone.

He indicated that the cultivation was carried out in an integrated manner free of charge, and that 10 tractors of government garage took active part in the undertaking.

The Acting head of Geza-Dungur administrative area, Mr. Siraj Mohammed, stated that cattle and rangelands in the area are in good condition, and that the farming community is expecting to obtain bumper harvest as the cultivation began at the right time.

The beneficiaries commended the genuine initiative taken by the Government to support needy farmers and highlighted the need for making available the necessary pesticides and other insecticides.
