Pledge to reinforce contribution in support of disabled veterans

Eritrean nationals residing in Sweden, Stuttgart, Germany, pledged to strengthen contribution towards the success of the programs set out by the National Association of Eritrean War Disabled Veterans. They expressed the commitment at an event they organized in connection with the International Day of the Disabled, 3 December.

Asmara, 14 December 2017- Eritrean nationals residing in Sweden, Stuttgart, Germany, pledged to strengthen contribution towards the success of the programs set out by the National Association of Eritrean War Disabled Veterans. They expressed the commitment at an event they organized in connection with the International Day of the Disabled, 3 December.

At the occasion that was organized by the Swedish branch, the Chairman of the NAEWDV, Mr. Gebrebrhan Eyasu indicated that the contribution of the branch associations abroad coupled with the support being made by the Government is significantly contributing in improving the lives of the disabled veterans.

At the event over 22 thousand Kroner was contributed towards the martyrs’ trust fund.

In the same vein, the Stuttgart branch of the association expressed readiness to reinforce contribution in support of the disabled veterans and contributed 3 thousand Euros.

Speaking at the occasion, the Charge d’Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy in Germany, Mr. Yohannes Woldu commending the contribution being made by Eritrean nationals in the Diaspora in support of the war disabled veterans, called for its sustainability.

Likewise, the national associations in Italy conducted annual activity assessment meeting.

At the meeting reports were presented regarding the activities implemented and challenges encountered.

The Eritrean Ambassador to Italy, Mr. Fessehatsion Petros pointed out that strengthening organizational capacity and resilience as well as portraying the true image of the country ought to be priority task of the national associations.
Members of the Holland sub-branch of the National Union of Eritrean Women also held annual activity assessment meeting.

Indicating the contribution of the NUEW in the national development drives, Mr. Tekeste Gebremedhin, Charge d’Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy, said that the organization of the union will be upgraded to a branch level.

In related news, the YPFDJ organization in Kuwait conducted founding congress on 8 December under the theme “Nurturing Strong and Conscious Youth”.

Speaking at the even, the Charge d’Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy, Mr. Idris Mohammed-Ali called on the youth to equip themselves with necessary knowledge and skills and strengthen participation in the national development endeavors.
