Hamelmalo College of Agriculture graduates 393 students

In its 11th commencement, the Hamelmalo College of Agriculture has graduated 393 students on 7 July with diploma, first and post graduate degrees. The graduates include 10 with Masters Degree, 189 with first degree and 194 in diploma.

Keren, 08 July 2018- In its 11th commencement, the Hamelmalo College of Agriculture has graduated 393 students on 7 July with diploma, first and post graduate degrees. The graduates include 10 with Masters Degree, 189 with first degree and 194 in diploma.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Mr. Arefaine Berhe, Minister of Agriculture, pointed out that the students that graduated from the college are significantly contributing in the development of technology assisted agricultural activities and that there is greater expectation of this year’s graduates in the effort to develop modern agricultural infrastructure and the increased agricultural production.

Minister Arefaine congratulating the students for successfully completing their studies and reaching to this day, called for strengthening participation in the national development drives.

The Dean of the college, Mr. Semere Amlesom indicated that the college provides 6 diploma programs, 8 degree and 4 masters degree in the fields of Agricultural Economy, Agricultural Engineering, Seeds Control, Veterinary, Livestock Science, Land and Environmental Resources as well as other fields of studies.

Mr. Semere further said that the number of Eritrean lecturers has reached to 70% and that more effort is being exerted to increase the number in cooperation with the National Higher Education Commission.
The Hamelmalo College of Agriculture has so far graduated 4249 students out of which 51% are female students.
