Funeral service of veteran fighters Brig. Gen. Temesgen Berhe and Tesfai Tekle conducted

The funeral service of the veteran fighters Brig. Gen. Temesghen Berhe, Senior Coordinator for Training and Management of Heavy Weapons and Mr. Tesfai Tecle, Head of Social Services in the Northern Red Sea Region, has been conducted today at the Asmara Patriots Cemetery with patriotic zeal in the presence of President Isaias Afwerki, Senior Government and PFDJ officials, Army Commanders, religious leaders, family members and thousands of residents of Asmara and its environs.

Asmara, 11 August 2018 – The funeral service of the veteran fighters Brig. Gen. Temesghen Berhe, Senior Coordinator for Training and Management of Heavy Weapons and Mr. Tesfai Tecle, Head of Social Services in the Northern Red Sea Region, has been conducted today at the Asmara Patriots Cemetery with patriotic zeal in the presence of President Isaias Afwerki, Senior Government and PFDJ officials, Army Commanders, religious leaders, family members and thousands of residents of Asmara and its environs.

At the funeral service which was accompanied with marching band, Mr.  Al-Amin Mohammed Seid, PFDJ Secretary, Mr. Woldemicael Abraha, Minister of the Local Government, Gen. Flipos Woldeyohannes, Chief of Staff of the Eritrean Armed Forces, as well as family members laid wreath at the cemetery.

According to the life history that was read at the funeral service, Brig. Gen. Temesghen Berhe joined the ELF in 1965 and later the EPLF in 1971 and served his country and people in various capacities including as Senior Coordinator for Training and Management of Heavy Weapons.

Veteran fighter Tesfai Tecle, who joined the ELF in 1967 was one of the heroic freedom fighters of the Eritrean revolution, served his country and people in various capacities and after independence as Director General in the Anseba and Northern Red Sea regions.

Expressing deep sorrow in the passing of the veteran fighters Brig. Gen. Temesghen Berhe and Tesfai Tecle, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Local Government express condolences to families and friends.
