Minister Stresses Need For Concerted Efforts Of The Public To Maintain Registered Achievement In Health Sector

In an assessment meeting held in Mendefera, Southern Region, the Minister of Health, Ms. Amna Nurhussein, stressed the need for concerted efforts to preserve the already registered achievements in the health sector.


Mendefera, 12 August 2010 – In an assessment meeting held in Mendefera, Southern Region, the Minister of Health, Ms. Amna Nurhussein, stressed the need for concerted efforts to preserve the already registered achievements in the health sector.

Pointing out that the significance of all educational institutions in nurturing and producing manpower to attain the desired goal, she explained that medications manufactured by Azel Pharmaceutical Share Company are playing a satisfactory role.

According to the Head of the Health Ministry’s branch in the Southern region, Dr. Tesfalem Gebrekidan, campaigns regarding prevention of communicable diseases in general and malaria in particular have borne fruitful outcomes. He also disclosed that mother and child mortality rates during pregnancy and delivery have declined as result of improved health service as well as the concerted efforts of health technicians, and health representatives in villages.

The participants of the meeting on their part held extensive discussions and adopted a number of resolutions.
