NRS: Governor conducts seminar to Massawa residents

At a meeting conducted with representatives of the residents of the port city of Massawa, Brig. General Tekle Libsu, Governor of Northern Red Sea region, said that reinforcing development programs through preserving national values is timely task.

Massawa, 04 January 2019 - At a meeting conducted with representatives of the residents of the port city of Massawa, Brig. General Tekle Libsu, Governor of Northern Red Sea region, said that reinforcing development programs through preserving national values is timely task.

Stating that the armed struggle for independence attests to the fact that none can stop a well organized people from victory, Brig. Gen. Tekle called on the residents to increase organizational capacity and ensure security of the city as well as nurture competent youth.

Underlining that self reliance is one of the main policies and strategies of the Government of Eritrea, the Governor indicated that regional development endeavors and community based popular campaigns are part of the national development program and that in this era of peaceful prospect reinforced contribution will have significant contribution in the development of Massawa.

He went on to say that parallel to safeguarding national security and sovereignty the Government is exerting strong effort to improve the lives of nationals by implementing big development project. He also called on concerned institutions and the public to properly use and protect the social service provision institutions and enhanced effort to ensure progress of education.

Participants on their part expressing readiness to play due part in the successful implementation of the charted out national and regional development drives called for the sustainability of meetings and seminars on the objective situations, ensuring city sanitation, empowering women in all sectors, among others.
