A Sudanese delegation headed by the Administrator of the Sudanese Red Sea region, Dr. Mohammad Tahir Ela, which also includes the region’s legislative Assembly and the National Congress Party, as well as representative of associations and organizations arrived in Asmara yesterday.
A dam constructed in Dekemhare, Adi-Tekeleizan sub-zone, at a cast of about 4.7 million Nakfa has been inaugurated. The dam with a capacity of holding 450,000 cubic meters of water is expected to put under cultivation 35 hectares of land lying beneath it, according to Eng. Tefahanes Eyob, in charge of the project, from Rodab Construction Company.
Summer cultivation endeavors in Gerset, Golij sub-zone, are registering commendable outcome. In this regard, about 3,500 hectares have been put under cultivation, stated Mr. Yemane Kifle, head of technical service in the government garage and Gerset agricultural project.
Preparations are in full swing to colorfully conduct Eritrea Festival 2010 at the national level, according to Mr. Gideon Fisehaye, head of the office of the National Holidays Coordinating Committee.
