Eritrea - Ministry of Information

The Eritrean Association of Books and Information has provided training to 32 employees of government organizations and other institutions. The two-month course focused on the administration of documentation and archives tasks.

A meeting of Regional Administrators is taking place in Mendefera town under the chairmanship of President Isaias Afwerki. In the first agenda item, the meeting heard report presented by the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Arefaine Berhe, regarding the accomplishments registered in efforts to achieve food security and preliminary assessment of crop harvest for 2010, as well as future agricultural programs. It subsequently conducted extensive discussion on the report presented.

ETHIOPIA: ENDLESS CAMPAIGN OF DISINFORMATION
In the last issue of its bulletin, “Week in the Horn”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, falsely alleges that Eritrea provided “a plane load of weapons and medical supplies to Al-Shabaab in Kismayo… at the same time as President Isaias was talking to Mr. Pascoe ( the UN Under Secretary-General for Political Affairs) and Ambassador Mahiga”, ( the Special Representative of the Secretary-General to Somalia).

The head of terminals in Anseba region, Mr. Fisehaye Tesfai, called on the general public to enhance contribution in efforts to control owners and drivers of buses who are illegally charging high tariff and carry passengers above capacity. 

A total of 1,044 students who scored high marks in the National School Leaving Certificate Exams during the 2009/2010 academic year at the Warsay-Yikaalo School in Sawa received the Zagre Award tonight at the Expo grounds here in the capital.
