In the course of the visit to She’ib sub-zone, the Administrator of the Northern Red Sea region, Ms. Tsegereda Woldegergish, urged agricultural experts to work hand-in-hand with the farming community so that the endeavors to achieve food security and improve the farmer’s living standard may bear fruitful outcome.
Assembly members and village elders in Nacfa town said that the achievements the town has registered as regards expansion of social services and infrastructure development amply demonstrate the Government’s vigorous endeavors in developing the sub-zone in general and the town in particular.
The Eritrea National Festival 2010 which has been underway in lively spirit since July 31 at the Expo grounds concluded today where winners in various activities staged during the event received prizes.
The inhabitants of Southern region were urged to make necessary preparations to prevent malaria epidemic that could prevail due to the rainy season, reminded Mr. Abraha Weldeselasie, head of malaria control in the Health Ministry’s branch office in the region.
The Ministry of Education is offering summer course to 1,460 teachers, supervisors and directors from all regions as part of the efforts to upgrade teachers' capacity and strengthen the teaching-learning process.
The existing 134 micro-dams and 254 water reservoirs in the Southern region are holding sufficient amount of water thanks to the showering of good amount of rainfall.
