NCEW Branch in Gash-Barka Region Striving to Strengthen National Resolute Rebuff

The NCEW branch in Gash-Barka region is striving for the success of the national resolute rebuff through strengthening organizational capacity of employees engaged in national construction companies, associations and private ventures. Barentu, 16 April 2010 - The NCEW branch in Gash-Barka region is striving for the success of the national resolute rebuff through strengthening organizational capacity of employees engaged in national construction companies, associations and private ventures.

The acting head of the branch, Mr. Tesfalem Redi, pointed out that continuous campaign is being undertaken to promote workers’ safety and health at the workplace, which in turn has vital role to play in raising productivity.

Noting that it is working diligently to provide job opportunities to women through upgrading their skill and competence, he explained that vigorous endeavors are being exerted in collaboration with partners towards uprooting harmful practices. He stressed the need for exerting still more efforts so as to enlist new members.

Mr. Tesfalem further pointed out that a workers’ training and recreation center is under construction in Barentu that would make due contribution in strengthening their organizational capacity.

The NCEW branch in Gash-Barka region has so far about 1,500 members.
