Ministry Urges the Public to Enhance Care to Disabled Children

The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare called on the general pubic to enhance care and support to disabled children. This was disclosed during a workshop conducted here in the capital by the Ministry’s branch in the Central region. Asmara, 17 April 2010 – The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare called on the general pubic to enhance care and support to disabled children. This was disclosed during a workshop conducted here in the capital by the Ministry’s branch in the Central region.

Study papers were presented at the workshop in which Assembly members, sub-zonal administrators, heads of ministries’ branch offices and invited guests took part.

The director of the Ministry’s branch office in the region, Mr. Berhane Woldekidan, underlined that extending the necessary care and support to disabled children is of vital importance towards ensuring a bright future for them.

Also speaking at the workshop, Mr. Tesfu Solomon, head of social service security in the branch office, indicated that vigorous endeavors are being made to rehabilitate disabled children through community-based programs.

The participants adopted a number of resolutions and recommendations with a view to reinforcing such care and rehabilitation schemes
