Fishermen in Barasole express satisfaction for getting access to various social services

Fishermen in Berasole administrative area, Southern-Denkalia sub-zone, expressed satisfaction for becoming beneficiaries of various social services introduced over the past 19 years.
Berasole, 25 April 2010 - Fishermen in Berasole administrative area, Southern-Denkalia sub-zone, expressed satisfaction for becoming beneficiaries of various social services introduced over the past 19 years.

They explained that they have already got access to a number of social services thanks to the Government’s priority attention to the remote areas. The fishermen went on to say that such services are bringing about noticeable improvement in their standard of living.  

The Administrator of Barasole, Mr. Mohammed Saleh, indicated that the majority of the local inhabitants were compelled to migrate as a result of colonial suppression. At present, however, they are leading a better and stable style of living, he added.

Mr. Mohammed further pointed out that jetty landing, fish storage and ice processing facilities have been put in place by the Government in the sub-zone which are creating conducive ground for fish products market.

Berasole, one of the 10 administrative areas of South-Denkalia sub-zone, is located 120 Km. north of Assab town.
