Rehabilitated war-disabled veterans register improvement in standard of living

Rehabilitated war-disabled veterans said that they have registered improvement in standard of living as a result of the Government’s support. They pointed out that they are in a position to engage in income-generating ventures through the interest-free loan made available to them.
Ginda, 30 April 2010 – Rehabilitated war-disabled veterans said that they have registered improvement in standard of living as a result of the Government’s support. They pointed out that they are in a position to engage in income-generating ventures through the interest-free loan made available to them.

The head of the branch office of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare in Ginda sub-zone, Mr. Asmelash Yohannes, stated that the loan is aimed at enabling disabled citizens to become self-supporting. He further indicated that interest-free loan amounting to 308,000 Nakfa was distributed to about 106 disabled citizens, out of whom 18 are females, who are engaged in business, farming and cattle breeding activities.

Reports disclosed that there are 60 employees of rehabilitation institutions for disabled nationals in Ginda sub-zone. Moreover, land has been distributed to about 90 disabled persons in the sub-zone.
