Wedi Labka: activity assessment meeting

The Wedi Labka Farmers Association held a meeting on 29 October in Afabet town with a view to assess the activities so far implemented and to charter out future activity plan.

Massawa, 01 October 2017 – The Wedi Labka Farmers Association held a meeting on 29 October in Afabet town with a view to assess the activities so far implemented and to charter out future activity plan.

At the meeting in which representatives of the Association, as well as area administrators and agriculture experts took part, report was presented regarding the effort conducted in past few years. According to the report the association has played a significant role in creating conducive atmosphere for the farmers to develop their farming activities and thereby improvising their livelihoods.

In a speech he presented, the administrator of the Afabet sub zone, Mr. Ahmed Mehamed-Nur Rejib called for a regular audit on the profit and expenditure of the Association and an early return of the loans the association provides. He also called for concerted effort by all members for greater achievement.

The participants on their part reminded for the improvement of the water distribution system and for timely payment of membership fee.

According to report, around 6 hectares of land is being cultivated in Wedi Labka through water diversion scheme.
