Assab: Assessment of Summer Work Program

An assessment meeting on this year’s Students Summer Work Program was held in Assab.

Assab, 04 November 2017- An assessment meeting on this year’s Students Summer Work Program was held in Assab.

Indicating that the Summer Work Program is a national program the is being carried out every year, the head of the Ministry of Education branch in the Southern Red Sea region, Mr. Idris Ali underlined the significance of conducting assessment for better efficiency.

Mr. Berhane Ghebrezgabihier, coordinator of the summer work program in the region, said that 350 students along with their supervisors participated in the summer work program conducted in Assab city, Mekaekae nursery center, and Afambo boarding school. Mr. Berhane also indicated that successful planting of tree seedlings was conducted. 

Mr. Berhane further elaborated that as part of the program sports week and seminars on different issues were provided to the summer work participants and that they were able to share experiences among themselves and exhibit their talents and competitiveness.

The participants conducting an extensive discussion on the reports presented, pointed out that there were some problems that were observed in the implementation of the set out programs that should be corrected in the future including choosing the right time for planting tree seedlings and preparing the needed materials for the program.
