Contribution of culture and values of society

The Minister of Labor and Human Welfare, Ms. Leul Gebreab said that the culture and noble societal values have significant contribution in ensuring social justice and in creating conducive foundation for generating employment opportunities and that have to be transferred to posterity. Minister Leul made the comment at the seminar she conducted on 10 November to the members of the 32nd round of the national service in Sawa. 

Asmara, 12 November 2018- The Minister of Labor and Human Welfare, Ms. Leul Gebreab said that the culture and noble societal values have significant contribution in ensuring social justice and in creating conducive foundation for generating employment opportunities and that have to be transferred to posterity. Minister Leul made the comment at the seminar she conducted on 10 November to the members of the 32nd round of the national service in Sawa.

At the seminar, Minister Leul gave extensive briefing on the background and development of labor movement, role of workers in the armed struggle for independence, labor as a concept and organization as well as social justice and objectives.

Indicating that labor entails education, knowledge, profession, capacity and vigor, Minister Leul said that technological advancement, socio-economic developments, market competitions and human migration are some that influence labor.

Indicating that labor is a process in which humans strive to satisfy their material and spiritual satisfaction and that involves material production and services, Ms. Leul said that the labor force equipped with skill and education has significant opportunity for becoming productive.

Ms. Leul went on to say that every year about 350 million Nakfa is disbursed in support of families of martyrs and that attests to the commitment and respect the Eritrean people and Government have towards their martyrs.

The participants on their part called for strong effort for nurturing youth equipped with the necessary knowledge and skill.
