Fruits and Vegetable Association in Kerkebet striving to boost production

The fruits and Vegetables Association in Kerkebet is striving to raise the number of members and boost production, according to Mr. Ali Asenai Humed, chairman of the association.
Kerkebet, 2 October 2010 – The fruits and Vegetables Association in Kerkebet is striving to raise the number of members and boost production, according to Mr. Ali Asenai Humed, chairman of the association.

He pointed out that the development programs being undertaken by investors and the general public in Kerkebet sub-zone is creating job opportunity for a number of nationals, besides cultivating the culture of hard work. Mr. Ali further commended the Agriculture Ministry for its continued support in the Association’s activities.

He went on to say that the association has about 115 members and is cultivating over 800 hectares, and that it continues to register economic growth and enrich experience. Mr. Ali explained that products are being supplied to the market in the administrative areas of Amalayot, Hamashdiba, Himbol-Kechech, Keru and others.

The members stated that they have now managed to generate income and get stabilized as a result of the activities being carried out under the umbrella of the association.
