Health station in Abo providing 24-hour service

The health station in Abo administrative area, South Denkalia sub-zone, is providing 24-hour service to the public through introducing enough equipments along with skilled manpower, the local inhabitants said with satisfaction.

Abo, 2 October 2010 – The health station in Abo administrative area, South Denkalia sub-zone, is providing 24-hour service to the public through introducing enough equipments along with skilled manpower, the local inhabitants said with satisfaction.

The inhabitants explained that previously they  were compelled to travel over 24 kilometers to obtain health service in Assab town. At present, however, they are getting access to reliable and full health service in their respective localities, they added.

The head of the health station, Mr. Hiero Humed, pointed out that the station is providing various services, including out-patient care, vaccination program, pregnancy checkup, delivery and pediatrics, in addition to undertaking public awareness raising campaigns. Moreover, he stated that the awareness of the society regarding medical treatment continues to grow and that the local inhabitants are making good use of the station.

Mr.  Hiero went on to say that the health station is rendering service to the inhabitants of  upper and lower parts of Asebol, Gibdo, Kiloma, Mergabiy, Isseita, Bulahle and Abo. He further stressed the need for introducing ambulance service as some of the villages are located 15 km. away from the health station.
