Developmental campaigns conducted by students expressed successful
In the assessment meeting in which heads of Ministry of Education branch offices, national associations, as well as school directors participated, Mr. Feshatsion Tekie, head of students’ development campaign in Northern Red Sea region, indicated that the campaign included digging holes, planting tree seedlings, building and maintaining terraces as well as other activities and that the outcome was encouraging.
He further explained that the campaign which was conducted in 9 centers in which 900 students, supervisors as well as agricultural experts participated, the participation of all students and especially of female students as well as the role of the development committee was remarkable and called for the sustainability of the campaign.
Mr. Rashid Mohammed Osman, head of MOE branch office in the region, on his part expressed that the developmental campaign conducted by students is part of the national development programs and that such a campaign helps students exchange experiences and develop work spirit.
Likewise, Ms. Amna Gaj Osman, Administrator of Ghinda sub-zone, said that the yearly development campaign conducted by students is part of the national efforts to ensure food security and called on sustainable follow up aimed at increasing the awareness of students on the importance of such popular campaigns.
