Eritrean women called upon to make optimum use of the available conducive ground
Asmara, 6 March 2010 – During an interview conducted in connection with International Women Day, Eritrean women were called upon to make optimum use of the available conducive ground so as to ensure gender equality and participation in all aspects. Ms. Hermon Tesfalidet who is engaged in construction work stated that active women’s participation in all aspects is gaining momentum thanks to the expansion of equitable social services in remote areas in general and the putting in place of devices that minimize women’s burden in household affairs.
Ms. Tirhas Isack and Ms. Merhawit Woldeleul who work at Sembel Wood and Metal Works Company explained on their part that activities
being carried out to enable women become self-supporting are bearing fruitful outcome, and called on fellow women to avail themselves of the available opportunities. Similarly, the manager of The Art Gallery in the capital, Ms. Bisrat Desale, pointed out that the number of women artists is growing with each passing day and that their art works are commendable.
