“Spirit of Adventure” ship visits Massawa
Massawa, 13 March 2010 - A visiting ship, “Spirit of Adventure”, with 147 foreigners onboard made a tour of the port city of Massawa.
The visitors from the U.K., Australia, USA and Philippines said that Eritrea is endowed with unpolluted coastline and spectacular natural resources.
The head of the visiting team, Ms. Christine Johnson, highly appraised the prevailing peace and stability in Eritrea, as well as its strategic location and the hospitality of the people.
One of the tourists, Dr. Christopher James from Australia, said that he used to get information about Eritrea and its history from the late Fred Hollows, and expressed satisfaction for personally witnessing the reality on the ground. He further noted the significance of the artifacts in the Museum of the Northern Red Sea region in tourism attraction.
Still other visitors, Mr. John Wales and Mr. Christopher Metcalf expressed admiration to the classic Eritrean steam engine locomotive and the country’s rich tourism potentials, as well as the hospitality of the people.
