Tokombia-Birar Road Plays Vital Role In Providing Efficient Transport Services
Tokombia, 14 March 2010 – The Tokombia-Birar 9-kms long dirt road constructed by Ghedem Construction Company is playing significant role in the provision of efficient transport services, Mr. Fesseha Gebretinsae, administrator of the town of Tokombia disclosed.
Pointing out that the route was previously unfavorable for vehicle transport, Mr. Fesseha said that now the newly constructed road is providing effective services and it has reduced the one hour transport from Tokombia to Barentu by half. He further added that the construction of a bridge along the Walwalai River has brought lasting solution to the problems previously encountered during summer time.
The inhabitants of the area on their part commended the Government’s efforts to improve people's standard of living and expressed satisfaction with the improved transportation services.
