Asmara, 27 May 2010 - The 19th anniversary of Eritrean Independence Day was colorfully celebrated in the Shanghais World Expo 2010 in which the Minister of Tourism, Ms. Askalu Menkorios, took part.

In the celebration at the Eritrean Pavilion on Tuesday, PRC officials, representatives of various countries, institutions and other invited guests as well as Eritrean nationals participated. In a speech she delivered on the occasion, Ms. Askalu said that the event played significant role in exchanging cultural values with other counties, especially China.

Following the celebrations, the participants observed the Eritrean Pavilion highlighting Eritrean history, social and religious harmony, cultural diversity, tourism resources, handicraft and architecture, among others.  They voiced admiration to the display saying that the development accomplishments featured in the Pavilion attest to the impressive outcome Eritrea has registered.

The Eritrean Sibrit cultural troupe staged performances at the celebrations thus adding color to the event.
