Asmara, 5 August 2010 – A cargo ship transporting Eritrean building materials from Pakistan heading to Massawa port was hijacked around the gulf of Aden, according to reports.

The ship named MV-SUEZ and owned by the Egyptian Sherkgat Company was hijacked on August 2 at 5:20 a.m. while sailing with a Panamanian flag.
