Development Activities Gaining Momentum in Afabet, Nacfa and Dubarwa Sub-Zones

Afabet, 6 August 2010 - The inhabitants of Afabet, Nacfa and Dubarwa sub-zone are carrying out effective development activities focusing on soil and water conservation, renovation of road networks and houses of martyrs’ families.

Accordingly, students engaged in the Summer Work Program (SWP) in Nacfa sub-zone are undertaking reforestation and gardening activities, in addition to assisting families of fallen heroes.

SWP participants in Afabet sub-zone are also taking part in reforestation and environmental sanitation campaign. Similarly, a total of 800 students, out of whom 300 are females who are deployed in Dubarwa sub-zone are actively engaged in the construction of terraces, reforestation, construction of school premises and digging holes for planting tree seedlings. So far, about 23 Km-long terracing has been put in place and 5,000 holes dug for planting tree seedlings, according to reports.
