Elabered, 1 February 2012 – The putting in place of a number of service-rendering institutions in Halib-Mentel Administrative area, Elabered sub-zone, is making due contribution in improving the living standard of the inhabitants, according to reports.

The local inhabitants said that the provision of education, health, potable water supply and 24-hour electricity service  have relieved them from a number of problems they used to encounterd in the past.

Recalling that there existed no significant social service in the area previously, the area administrator Mr. Beyene Kidane, said that thanks to the Government’s endeavors, the inhabitants have become beneficiaries of various social services.

He further said that a master plan for Halib-Mentel has been drawn up, and that 300 plots would be allotted soon for residential purpose.
