Asmara, 3 February 2012 – 26 people, including women and children, died and 3 others sustained serious injury in a bus accident yesterday along the Asmara-Debarwa road.  The bus with plate number ER-Code3-02297 was carrying 29 passengers.

Mr. Yonas Debesai, who is receiving treatment, told Erina that the accident occurred when the bus overturn at the sloppy Menguda spot.
Investigation is underway to identify the cause of the accident. It is known, however, the driver was of old age and prohibited from driving public transport due to poor health, including sight defect.
