President Isaias holds talks with Sudanese Presidential Advisor
Asmara, 11 January 2010 – President Isaias Afwerki today received and held talks with Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, Advisor of the Sudanese President.
In the meeting at the Denden Hall here in the capital, Dr. Mustafa delivered a message from President Omar Hassan Al-Beshir of Sudan to President Isaias. The two sides also conducted discussion on enhancing bilateral relations and rebuffing external interference in internal and regional affairs.
Dr. Mustafa told ERINA following the meeting that the message from President Omar Hassan Al-Beshir highlights the stance of the people and Government of Sudan regarding the sanctions resolution adopted in the name of the Security Council. “Sudan being victim of such a vicious resolution, the people and Government of Sudan stand alongside the people and Government of Eritrea against the shameful resolution,” he underlined.
On bilateral relations, Dr. Mustafa pointed out that relations between the people of Eritrea and Sudan is both historical and deep-rooted. He further explained that the relations between the governments of the two countries, as well as that of the PFDJ and the Sudanese National Congress Party are exemplary.
