As long as it is not in one’s backyard, all is fair

I guess war and chaos, for as long as it does not take place in, or around one’s territory, can be exciting and even definitely profitable. Was it not, according to his own admission, why George W. Bush created a war in Iraq, so as to contain and keep at bay, and have a better chance of fighting Al Quaida, in a country other than his own, away from the view of the American people, although more Americans had still to die for it, and never mind that Iraqis had nothing to do with the New York 9/11 terror? Was it also not Bush himself who had said, “if we leave Iraq now, they (Al Quaida) will follow us!”

It makes one wonder what exactly the initial and main reason was that had caused the USA government to attack and invade Iraq in the first place. Was it really in search of the non-existent WMD or was it in order to have control over their oil? Or was it to satisfy the gun lobbyists in their addiction to blood letting and therefore to find a conducive territory, far away from home, in which to fight Al Quaida, since the terrain in Afghanistan, where the terrorism had all started, and where it was the headquarters of Al Quaida, had proven to be too harsh for a satisfying and promising war to take place? Out of all these choices, what it definitely was not is neither the introduction of democracy, nor to help the Iraqi people get rid of Saddam Hussein, since there was a period, not too long before, when they had befriended Saddam Hussein as the enemy of their enemy, and when they had supplied him with the ammunition by which, according to their accusations of him today, he supposedly massacred his own people, although, at that time, it was the Iranians who were blamed for the massacre.

Whatever the reasons behind all the unsolicited American incursions into sovereign territories around the world, the western media, which are normally the first hint of something cooking, seem to be salivating at the prospect of some skirmishes, as they are doing by their hypothetical and imaginary predictions of a recurrence of war between Eritrea and her southern neighbour, a rumor which is also being highly embellished by the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon who seems to have nothing else to do these days except to speculate and wish for another war between the two countries, so as to justify the incompetence of his peacekeeping mission everywhere and especially those 1700 men strong (reduced from their original 4700) who had to recently leave Eritrea ending their mandate which was supposed to have been to facilitate, along with the EEBC, the demarcation of the border between the two countries, according to the ruling granted, which they were unable or unwilling to do, and which, after the waiting period of five years, the EEBC decided to take it upon themselves to settle the matter once and for all, and by so doing causing the UN and its peacekeepers to have nothing to show for having been present in that area for almost eight years. All they can say is that they prevented a recurrence of the war. But if, after they leave, there still is no signs of any war, then their presence on the borders of Eritrea and its neighbor will have had no meaning whatsoever, and this is, most probably, the face saving devise that Ban Ki-moon is seeking.

Secretary General Ban Ki-moon wants a war in order to prove to the world that his peacekeepers had prevented it all this time, and that in their absence there can be no peace, despite the fact that both countries have repeatedly assured him they had no desire to attack each other. Still he keeps threatening, pestering and giving different suggestions and choices although Eritrea has assured him that she has no more need of the peacekeepers.

Otherwise, it is not clear why Ban Ki-moon is now, all of a sudden, pretending to be so concerned and worried about war breaking between Eritrea and her belligerent southern neighbour. Is it perhaps, one might ask, because his hidden agenda, crafted for him by the state department, has not had the chance to see the light of day – whatever it was? Or is it because peacekeepers never get to leave once they occupy a country, no matter what, especially when there is a conspiracy underway?

The Trojan Horse
And to top it all, the current news is that, America, after having robbed and cleaned out the cream of many countries’ society, and taken advantage of their poverty by outsourcing American jobs into them for a pittance, now they want to send back, to their original country, any rotten apples they might have discovered out of those they stole and allowed to enter their country to begin with. It is like shopping at a supermarket, and after having taken the goods home, peeled and cleaned them, whichever the case, to force the store to take back the discarded parts and demand a reimbursement for it. In this case it is human beings that they are trying to discard, after having imprisoned them and allowed them to perfect and learn more of the tricks of the trade of western criminality, now they decide to repatriate them. Otherwise, they say they are going to sanction those countries (among them Eritrea) who are refusing to receive those rotten apples to contaminate and threaten their law abiding and peaceful citizens.

Besides, how does anyone know that this is not one of their old gimmicks? Who really are these people? For all we know they might be those who are claiming to have set up an opposition government in the west, or perhaps even woyane themselves! Do we have a Trojan Horse here? We have to be very careful before we allow anyone back to our peaceful and safe country.

With truth, justice and safety as her tools, Eritrea will always be protected and prevail in the end.
