President Isaias returns home following working visit to Saudi Arabia

Asmara, 28 April 2008 - President Isaias Afwerki returned home in the evening hours today following a working visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of King Abdalla Bin Abdel-Aziz. In the course of his two days visit, the President held talks with the Saudi monarch.
In the meeting held last night, the two leaders discussed on issues focusing on developing and strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation, regional and international issues of mutual concern to both countries.
Earlier, President Isaias held talks with the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Saud Al-Faisal, regarding developments in the Horn of Africa, especially the situation in Somalia and Darfur.
Moreover, the President held talks with the Foreign Minister of Norway, Mr. Jonas Gahr Store, on bilateral cooperation partnership.
On arrival in Riyadh yesterday, the President was accorded a warm welcome by senior Saudi government officials, including Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal.
