President holds talks with Indian investors

Asmara, 16 May 2008 - President Isaias Afwerki today received and held talks with Indian investors. In the meeting at the Denden Hall, the President expressed Eritrea’s desire to foster cooperation with India in different sectors, especially mining, industry, agriculture, technology and human resource development. In this respect, he called on Indian investors to participate in investment ventures in the country and stated that Eritrea is keen to directly participate in the Indian market.
The Indian investors on their part expressed appreciation to the hospitality and collaboration accorded them and indicated that they would visit the Massawa Free Economic Zone and different places of the country. Expressing their satisfaction with the information given to them by a number of government officials, the Indian investors said that they wish to get engaged in the mining sector.
