Massawa, 6 October 2008 - A Japanese Peace Boat with 750 visitors on board yesterday conducted a tour in Massawa port for the 13th time.
On arrival in the port, the Japanese nationals aboard the Peace Boat were accorded warm welcome by the Administrator of Massawa city, Ms. Fana Tesfamariam, and different heads, as well as mothers.
The Administrator indicated that the visit of the Peace Boat has a significant role to play in further enhancing the existing relations between the two countries and peoples.
The head of the visiting group, Ms. Rose Welsh, on her part expressed appreciation to the continued warm welcome accorded them by the people and Government of Eritrea. She also pointed out that the visit is mainly aimed at fostering peace and friendship among countries and peoples, in addition to promoting cultural exchange.

Following visits to Foro, Hirgigo, Mai-Atal and Mai-Wi’uy, the visiting group staged Japanese cultural show at Sigalet to the residents of Massawa.
The Japanese Peace Boat has already visited Singapore, Vietnam and India. It headed for Egypt at dawn today concluding the visit to Eritrea.
