146 students graduate from Barentu School of Assistant Nurses

Barentu, 12 May 2008 - A total of 146 students, out of whom 72 are women, recently graduated from the Barentu School of Assistant Nurses upon completion of a one-year course.
The director of the School, Mr. Bereket Goitom, explained that the graduating batch pursued year-long courses in both theoretical and practical aspects.
The Regional Schools Coordinator, Ms. Kudusan Abraha, noted the significance of providing educational opportunities, including in remote areas, in endeavors to promote the development of human resource capacity. She further indicated that the Health Ministry has opened schools of assistant nurses in Barentu, Ginda and Mendefera and that a number of trainees have already graduated from them.
Also speaking on the occasion, the Administrator of Gash-Barka region, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet, awarded prizes on behalf of the regional administration to three graduates who demonstrated excellence in their academic pursuit. Dr. Andom Ogbamariam, Director General of Human Resource Development in the Ministry of Health, handed certificates to the graduates.
It is to be noted that the Barentu School of Assistant Nurses graduated 50 students in the firs round.
